Start of the Web Design and Marketing Duo
Experience can pave the way to success when we are willing to learn from it. At WorldWise.net, we are continuous learners. As we consider the key factors that have influenced our success, it is clear that the background and experience of our founders have shaped who we are today – our values, our mission, our products and services.
Prior to the founding of WorldWise.net, both Michael Newcomb and Jerry Kocis had already garnered a wealth of experience in telecommunications sales and service, along with web design, marketing, and hosting. After graduating from Western Michigan University, Michael started and sold multiple businesses in the 80’s and 90’s. He then held a number of positions at Verizon and USN Communications, where his telecommunications expertise resulted in increased responsibility, including Vice-President of Sales and Director of Customer Service. During his years at Verizon, he was introduced to Gerald Kocis, co-owner at the time.
Gerald, a graduate of the University of Michigan, also had extensive background in web design – a perfect, synergetic fit with Michael’s business management, sales, and marketing experience. Together, they started WorldWise Communications – a Broadcast Fax company serving the real estate industry. As Internet and email usage further transformed business communications, a company re-engineering was imperative. With the help of two additional partners, Dan McLaughlin and Jim Mazak, WorldWise, Inc. was recreated in 1998 with the mission of providing web design, marketing, and hosting services for small to medium-sized businesses.
